Windows Problem Steps Recorder

In the Windows Search Bar, Search for “Steps Recorder”. Open the utility.

A small pop up opens with 3 buttons:

Start Record is enabled. Stop Record is disabled. Add comment is disabled.

Press Start Record. All the events and steps that you now make on screen are recorded by the problem steps recorder. You can very well signify areas of concern while recording is on, and also select some part of screen to add comment.

Once you stop recording, you can save the resulting file as a zip file, and share the contents of that zip file (which is a .mht file) to technical team for review or assistance. Much better than scheduling a meeting and then sharing screens to tell the issue.

A very convenient and hassle free way of knowledge sharing, this has been part of windows for some time now. Once you have unzipped the contents of the resultant zip file, you can view the details as a slide show, with your comments appearing where-ever entered.
